FTTC Broadband

Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC)

FTTC broadband uses fibre optic cable from the exchange to your local street cabinet, then existing copper wiring to your property. It offers a significant speed boost over standard ADSL, with download speeds up to 80Mbps and upload speeds up to 20Mbps.

Why Choose FTTC?

Speeds up to 80Mbps — fast enough for streaming, video calls and working from home
Widely available — covers most UK postcodes where full fibre isn't yet available
No new cabling needed — uses your existing phone line from the cabinet to your property
Unlimited data — no caps or throttling on any of our packages
Static IP available — ideal for remote access, VPN and VoIP

How It Works

Fibre optic cable runs from the telephone exchange to the green cabinet on your street. From there, the existing copper phone line carries the signal into your property. While speeds depend on the distance between your property and the cabinet, most customers achieve excellent performance.

We provide a pre-configured router and all the connection settings you need. If you prefer to use your own equipment (such as a MikroTik or FireBrick), we're happy to provide the PPPoE credentials.

Is FTTC right for me?

FTTC is ideal if full fibre (FTTP) isn't available at your address yet. Check your postcode using our coverage checker to see what's available.
